My Life Experience

My teaching, research experience and interests are eclectic and broad. They are all connected by a calling to bridge mind and heart, science and spirituality.

My teaching and research have focused on understanding the depths of human connection – the connection with our essential self, the connection experienced within intimate relationships and the intimate connection that are established within relationships with health care providers.

My interests include consciousness and spirituality, the new science of love and intimate relationships, the transformation of the culture of care and patient experience through patient-centered and relationship-centered care, and the implementation of evidence-based complementary and integrative therapies in palliative/supportive care, end of life care and geriatric care.
